All of the Australian Merino fibre in Fibresmith Hand Dyed yarns complies with the Australian wool industry administered National Wool Declaration Schemes. It is sourced from farms where high standards of animal welfare are required and the sheep have not been mulesed.
This is an untreated, luxury yarn with an exceptionally soft handle. Longer staple fibres (around 3.5 inches/85mm) are selected to reduce the pilling that is ubiquitous with Merino yarns. The fleece is then spun at a highly regarded Italian mill for exceptional twist and quality.
There may be slight variations in tone and shade between skeins, this is part of the process and unique beauty of hand dyeing. I recommend buying enough for your project when ordering and alternating rows from each skein when joining.
