Description

Beautifully soft, 19.5 micron, Merino wool yarn, ethically and sustainably grown in Australia and dyed by hand in the Fibresmith warehouse. This is an untreated (so not subjected to the damaging chemical treatments that produce Superwash) luxury fibre with an exceptionally soft handle. Longer staple fibres (around 3.5 inches/85mm which is long for merino fibre) are selected to reduce pilling. The fleece is spun at an Italian mill for exceptional twist and quality.

This Australian merino fibre is sourced from farms where high standards of animal welfare are required and animal husbandry practices ensure the basic physiological and behavioural needs of the sheep are met. All of the Australian merino fibre in Fibresmith Hand Dyes complies with the Australian wool industry administered National Wool Declaration Scheme, under which growers declare that the wool is from sheep that have not been mulesed. This declaration is subject to independent verification checks and farm inspections.
