Hydrangea 2025 Maze & Vale Patchwork Advent

Hydrangeas are one of my favourite flowers. The five or six in my garden are a few years old now and last Spring they gave me the most stunning blooms, in a such a wonderful array of colours. So many nuanced, dusky, shades of pink, purple, blues, and soft greens, all fading into each other. I took approximately a million photos of them and knew I wanted to try and recreate their gorgeous palette for my 2025 advents.

The fabric advent this year comprises a curated, harmonious, selection of Maze & Vale screen prints mixed with hand dyed pieces and natural linen. Twenty five specially colour coordinated bundles of Hydrangea hues, individually wrapped and numbered, to open each and every day leading up to the holidays.

Designed to be pieced using my freeform patchwork technique (an easy, fun, ‘no rules’, kind of approach), each day’s pieces will form a patchwork block approximately 30cm x 30cm (12″ x 12″). You will receive customised freeform patchwork instructions as part of your advent. The blocks can be pieced together to form a quilt top or used to make a series of smaller projects, like cushion covers, zip pouches, etc.
