BONUS: Maze & Vale Freeform Patchwork Cutting Guide
Freeform patchwork is a form of improvisational piecing that allows the fabric itself to shine and takes the endless guess work out of arranging scraps in a cohesive design. It is a perfect way to use up scraps from other projects or for those extra special bits of fabric that you long to use but can’t quite settle on which pattern will work best. In my years of sharing and teaching this technique, one of the biggest hurdles is simply cutting into the fabric.
So if you’re unsure of how to begin, here’s a little guidance and encouragement. These cutting guides, along with the Freeform Patchwork instructions, will have you freeform piecing like a champ in no time.
These guides are designed to be used with the Maze & Vale hand printed patchwork panels and the Freeform Patchwork piecing technique. A free ‘Introduction to Freeform Patchwork’ worksheet can be downloaded here.
